Update parameters and relation from e new startpart

When I modify some caracteristics of startpart, example:

- add parameters

- modify  some expression under relations

When I open a old model, rised from old startpart version,  how can update it "automatically" without have to remember goto  Parameter>Tools > Update Restriction Definition

Regards

Beniamino

No way to do it without doing some extra work.

Create a mapkey that updates the parameters and restricted definition file and execute that when you open a file. That will eliminate some steps.

It is still up to you to remember to do the update.

Any idea if Model Check could do this?

Start parts are copied to create stand-alone models. There is no link between a part and the start part it was made from. The best you can do is find a process to change -all- parts, including whatever start part seems useful.

You may need to hire a developer to create a Toolkit application, or use one of a number of external automation tools.

Tom Uminn suggested ModelCHECK. It might work. This is one discussion: How to add parameters with units using ModelCHECK?

PTC also has a link for maintenance customers https://support.ptc.com/apps/solution_preview/solution/lang/presolution?lang=en&n=CS32062

We use a nice toolkit program to update our old data once it is touched. It gives the designer an overview of what is outdated in the current model and suggests the necessary changes. Probably you want to have a look the tool called SmartUpdate provided by B&W Software (www.buw-soft.de).
