Why DWG and DXF file import to Schematics always fail

Why DWG and DXF file import always fail, whether is a linear about cad

there must be some entities in the autocad dwg or dxf file which can not be imported, I suggest please diagonosis, like deleting half of the entities in dwg, and try whether you can import or not. I guess the problem mostly lies with logos and hatches in autocad which may not be possible to import.

Hi,

can you provide more details ? when it fail, does Creo schematics provide you error message ?

You can try the following :

  • use different sheet format - maybe the units are incorrect (inch/mm) or the sheet is too small
  • use the DWG/DXF file as template for new design. Creo schematics will choose automatically the required sheets (size and units)
