adding jogs to mbd leader annotations

Hey guys,

I hope there is a better answer than "not possible" (using creo 4.0)

My company is new to MBD, I am detailing a very large complex weldment. I am creating the tabs, comb-states, sections, details etc. but one thing I have noticed that is driving me nuts is I cannot add a jog to the leader lines. For the weld callouts, annotations or the notes. This only applies in the 3d space. I know how to add jogs and breaks in 2d space. But cannot seem to find a work around that is quick enough to justify the effort. The image attached is just one example of why I want a jog, so I am not dragging the leader across the entire feature.

I asked the same question yesterday. Hope someone has a solution, though it seems Creo can't do it.

Creo-7. Right click on annotation and play: StephenV_0-1730298410784.png

Looks like we don't have much to work with in this event. Hope PTC has addressed this in developing MBD releases - it would be SOOOO nice! No doubt you already did all this but just-in-case I give this to you.

I've got Creo 10 and I've got the same options you have. You can play with the jog that's already in the note, but nothing beyond that. In weld annotations you can't do anything

Thank you for the guidance. It seems it's such a glaring obvious fix that PTC overlooked it.

Instead of spin my tires and hope for a solution I have decided to just add more rep states and just place my weld callouts on different comb state tabs so it looks cleaner. It's just a lot more work with naming everything trying to comply with MBD standards.

Yeah well that's just Creo in a nutshell to be honest....

So yeah, like with everything PTC, use a workaround and lose all "intelligence" in your model😂 (In this instance, manually place the weld callouts)

No jogs available in Creo 12.0.0.1 when I tried in Creo+

There is always more to learn in Creo.

I put a request into moderator to (also) escalate this issue to PTC Committee in hopes that it's a simple add-on or reason why it cannot be.  I will try to bring it to other PTC resourced sites and maybe anyone else can do the same. Something we all think is beneficial in the ever-evolving MBD world. Thanks!

@StephenV

The appropriate place to put "enhancement requests" is the Ideas area:

https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/idb-p/creoparametric

Moderators can sometimes help, but ideally you would create an Idea, appropriately documented.
