appearance gallery library?

I didn't find an easy answer with a search, so I'll try here.

I'd like to have an appearance gallery choice that looks like shiny treadplate. Or even not shiny treadplate. Are there any available appearance gallery libraries out there I could get that might have something like this?

thanks,

In the older versions of Pro|E, there use to be a larger selection of texture files.

I found 3 treadplate images in the Pro|E 2000i appearance folder. If you have maintenance, you should be able to download the install files and salvage the appearance manager folder from that. they are in TX3 format.

I don't know why PTC decided to crop their offerings from years ago. It is really poor form in my book. Snag these things if you can and back them up somewhere.

I would share them here but I suspect someone would be upset.

There are also great resources on the web for continuous texture images. If you want them to have a surface texture in renderings, you can still make these sets with a little effort.

This might give you some insight:

If you grayscale this and do a careful edge trimming, you might be able to get a nice continuous texture out of this:

It takes a little work to make continuous textures. You can search the web for continuous or seamless texture images. Not all Google hits will actually be continuous. But there are some links on how to create them in Photoshop.
