Doing only a cursory investigation (by attempting to go to common sites like mcmaster.com) it appears the "browser" in Creo is limited in its capabilities. I think it's main intent is to be used by Creo to provide information from PTC, so maybe it's a restricted feature "browser", not intended to be used for general browsing. They likely use it because it's almost guaranteed to be present on every system running Creo, since it only runs on Windows operating systems.
You'll just have to use an "actual" browser to work with Windchill and such.
