degrees minutes seconds and decimal places

degrees minutes seconds and decimal places

So we have switched from using decimals degrees to using degree-minutes-seconds. Seems like a relatively easy switch.

I change the config setting for ang_units to ang_sec. It works fine, BUT...there's always a big but around somewhere.

I'm trying to show 23±0.5 degrees as a limit dimension. So, I get [cid:image001.jpg@01CB4B52.D5B37320] when I have the decimal set to 1 place, but I don't want the trailing zero, so i set the decimal to zero and get[cid:image005.jpg@01CB4B52.D5B37320]. I can't seem to get it to show 30 minutes without having 1 decimal place.

Okay, so I understand that 1 decimal place is required for .5 degrees, but come on, I can't exchange decimal degrees for decimal minutes.

Anyone have the amazing solution to my problem or am I out of luck because I asked on a friday before a long weekend holiday.

Except now I get the trailing seconds and I don't think that will fly either.

Thanks Wayne, that was what I had missed.

Okay, so in summary, between Bob and Wayne there was an "easy" fix.

For completeness, here is everything (I think) I changed to get from decimal degrees to degrees-minutes-seconds...

In the CONFIG.PRO I added ANG_UNITS ANG_SEC.

In the drawing setup file, I set the following:

draw_ang_unit_trail_zeros no

In the drawing, I edited the properties of the dimension and set it to DEGREES,MIN,SEC

I think that is all I did to make the switch for this draiwng.

Thanks again for the quick responses,

Steve
