I am looking for a method to reduce time spent modelling variants of assemblies.
The procedure we use currently within the company I work for is to manually model every single variant, create a unique part number for that assembly (within windchill) and then production release that assembly and all sub components.
Over time the product catalogue has grown substantially and now this process is now crippling the resource as it such a labour intesive process.
I would like to hear any experience people have who have been through a similar situation?
I also would like to hear suggestions of creo or windchill features that we could use to reduce work load i.e. (end items, simple reps, skeleton models, configurators and so on)?
Any help would be much appreciated.
I am currently running creo 2.0 m180 and winchill v10.1 m010
