Im working on a crane arm assembly and created some mechanism connections for the cilinders.
For every important position I save a snaphot, so I can easily check if the mechanism is still okay whenever I change a dimension of a part.
The problem is that all snapshots are immediately out of date whenever I modify any part in the assembly. So snapshots arent exactly suitable for product development..
Is there a better way to have multiple mechanisms positions saved in a single assembly?
I Image it should be possible to have different sets of mates in a single assembly, perhaps with instances? Im not sure how to do it.
Any suggestions?
I believe the following will work: Create an assembly to test the system and assemble as many copies of the system as you like. Use assembly flexibility to drive each of the copies to the place you like.
Retrieving/regenerating this test assy will drive each copy and you can see if each position is working correctly.
I dont think you can use mechanism connection as flexible components. I could create copies of the assembly and lock the mechanisms in certain positions, but i was hoping there would be an easier way.
