problem in extrusion / cut....red circles in preview

hello folks,

I have a problem with an extruded cut.

In the preview of the feature (right before I click the green check mark) I can see small red circles at certain locations along the extruded cut profile.

what do they mean? is there a problem with the sketch?

The system says the feature could not intersect the part, and fails. Suggests redefining, but what is the problem with the red circles?

any thoughts/ideas area appreciated.

thanks

please see image attached.

The red circles indicate the areas that ProE is having problems. Since
there is a problem with intersections and looking at your picture, I'd say
it is because you have some small lines in your sketch that happen to line
up with edges on the part. You can either increase the accuracy of the
part or (better) resketch to get rid of the small lines and adding them
later as a separate feature (using a round feature for example) or resketch
to stop small lines intersecting the offending edge on the part.
