repeat command places components randomly

I and a variety of people at my company are having a similar problem. If I'm doing a repeat command, for example to add several piping clamps on to a channel, some of the clamps go to the end of the model tree, but others go into random places up the model tree. This produces problems where components high up in the tree are dependent on components at the end. A lot of times those components also can't be reordered.

The easy fix is not to use the Repeat command of course, but that command is handy in some cases.

Anyone else having this problem?

I could not find any hints to this issue in our database.

Maybe the component gets added into the model tree close to the features it gets referenced to?

That would make it look more intentional than random.

If only that was the case. I'm finding the repeated components end up next to unrelated components, high in the tree, vs below the referenced components. This causes all kinds of circular references.

I've stopped using the Repeat command. Unfortunate, as assembly of parts in Creo is more of a hassle than in WF [please bring back common sense options like Mate and Align for assembly], and consequently the Repeat command is more useful

Really strange - you should open a case with TS, sending an example (as simple as possible).

One reference I found for repeat not working as expected, was a case where it said component was placed with datum references rather than component references - whatever that means!

I can only guess, it is about using assembly datum references vs. component geometry or on-the-fly datums...

And I don't know, whether the effect was similar to the one you see.

But surely worth checking, whether the type of constraints used makes the difference.
