I created this part, using our start parts, it's currently stuck in some
weird reference to the assembly I'm having a hard time breaking
so I open it and see this in the message log...

That reminds me of the time I replaced a co-workers Pro/E menu font with the Wingdings font.

He had IT uninstall and reinstall Pro/E before I had a chance to tell him how to fix it...

Ah, good times, good times. (:

As good as when I worked at NASA JSC and hacked the splash screen that used to load before Pro/E started and replaced it with an "Alien" monster jumping out at you with a caption something like Pro/BUGGED. Everyone thought NASA had been hacked, wanted to shut down the server that Pro/E ran on.

We are not writing code in Kansas (Needham) any more Toto.

My best 'joke' was on a user who claimed to be know a lot about the VAX/VMS operating system on our VAXstations. We shared the workstation, him first shift, me on second. He forgot to logout one night, so I had some fun. The OS runs a lgicmd.cmd file at login. I modified his file by adding 'Logout' as the first line. Took him and the system people 2 hours to figure out what I did and how to get him logged on. Simple fix is <username>/nolgicmd in the username field when logging in. Guess he didn't know as much as he thought he did.
I got spoken too by the system manager for doing that but he was trying hard to not laugh.

Hahaha. Nice.
Mine was before Pro/e on windows. We were running on Alpha workstations. I made a screenshot and put it on my bosses 386 computer with window 3.5 and told him I figured out how to run it on those computers. It took him a couple of minutes to figure out why he couldn't click on the menus.

We all got a good chuckle out of it.

so, apparently it's an "ancient Chinese secret" --- literally, it's not
Modern Chinese characters, and it says SOFT and WARE still don't know
the WHY's but I'm now singing the La Choy commercial from back in the
day ..

Screen Melt, and WinRoach were our Early PC pranks,

The Matrix in Asian characters…..

it appears to be tied somehow to the Reference viewer..
this time I was fighting references in my assembly.. I installed a washer
(insert/mate/done ---
it's not rocket science ) hit save and it told me I created a reference to
the washer  in my workspace and common space and wouldn't let me save.. I
removed it and could save,  even though I removed it the reference viewer
was still showing it as a dependency ... (I added the
remember_placed_components  NO when I first found this little bug last time
with parts I was replacing, there was no swap this time) but all the ones I
got rid of before were also back!! (I treated it like ghosts last time, and
they were gone -or so I thought)
so I fought it for a while opened it back up checked the reference viewer
and when I looked to my message log
more Chinese, new symbols - I think it may say "who's your daddy" or "take
that sucker"
