using publish geometry

using publish geometry

Hi,
I used to use Publish Geometry and skeletons with my Creo3 Advanced XE.

I now have a Creo7 Essentials licence.

One of Optional Modules : #Optional Modules = ASSY_PERFORMANCE.

But it seems that I can't use Published Geometry.
Is this normal?
Any advice?

Thank you

I think this is to be expected with an "essentials" license. Look for the advanced assembly extension being activated in the license file to confirm. Without the AAX most of the top-down tools are not available.

Comparison of license package capabilities here:

This would suggest that top-down tools are not included in an essentials license.

Thanks, however, I've asked to Gemini AI :

Absolutely! The ASSY_PERFORMANCE module itself doesn't directly handle the creation of geometry copies, but managing geometry copies is a standard and fundamental feature of PTC Creo Parametric Essential.

🏗️ Geometry Copies in Creo
The main tools you'll use for this are called Publish Geometry and Copy Geometry.

Publish Geometry
This is the first step. In the source model (the part from which the geometry originates), you define and "publish" the references you want to make available to other parts (examples: key surfaces, curves, points, or even entire features).

Copy Geometry
This is the second step, performed in the destination part. This function allows you to create a Copy Geometry in a part by selecting the Publish Geometry from the source model.

🌟 Key Benefits of Copy Geometry
Top-Down Design: This is the fundamental method for designing assemblies where the context and geometry of surrounding parts define the characteristics of the new part.

---
So, it's strange. It should work...
I've used Geometry publishing many times, but option is grayed.

Hi,

you cannot believe every thing AI tells you.

Information provided by @tbraxton is correct. You need license containing ASSEMBLY module.
