Catch vs Snap

Catch vs Snap

Is there a way to unify this? Before snaps went in, it was a bit easier to explain what catch was. Now that there are both, I think it can be confusing for a new user. Why is it that one command uses snap while everthing else uses catch.

I agree. The 2D copilot snaps to 3D geometry whereas the default catch settings do not snap to the part. The catch is not displayed by default. Changing the default catch settings is also not intuitive. You must select Default 2D from a drop-down, change the settings, then change them back to Next Catch. And they are not persistent between sessions.

I made the experience a new user expects to snap the center of edges and holes, during moving of faces or positioning of parts. Important is as well the feedback with the valve to control the modification.
