Spring endurance calculation using Mechanica

Hi,

I want to calculate endurance of spring in Wildfire 5.0.

I want to apply a load of 600N, strokes doesn't matter for 1 lakh cycles. The test speed is 2Hz.

Kindly suggest how to solve this in Mechanica.

Well, Mechanica can easily calculate the stress at your maximum load, and unless it's a really big spring the dynamic load at 2 Hz can probably be neglected.

After that, you'll need to use some fatigue data for your chosen material, and probably do some good old-fashioned maths with it...

Hi Dhinesh,

It's possible that PTC's Fatigue Advisor could help you with the endurance calculations.

Hi Tad,

Anything in the pipeline for Fatigue Advisor?

Assemblies? Load histories greater than 100 lines? Better CPU usage (only one core seems to do anything)
