Ability to code license to USB Dongle/Key

We have a customer who wants to be able to move his license between 2 computers in 2 seperate locations, his home office and a clients office regularly.  The Flexnet license server used by PTC will allow this functionality, however this is not currently supported by PTC.

Since the license is attached to the MAC address in the first network card listed in the registry, I wonder if you could use a USB wireless device.  It might take some registry shenanigans and you'd have to make sure that the USB wireless device was always on (but you wouldn't necessarily have to use it), but in theory it ought to work just fine.

Flexera dongles give reliable flexibility with Zuken's E3 ECAD system, it would be great is Creo supported the same functionality.

Hi Doug

We have done as you suggest previously, but its not quite as simple or reliable.  As a solution its still not supported by PTC and to the customer it looks like a bit of a bodge, rather than a piece of hardware specifically for the purpose

The USB dongle system works well with all the engineering software I've had association with.

You don't even need an internet connection with the CAD software we are replacing.

This would certainly simplify distribution of our licenses.
