Creo Schematics 10 and 11 crashes when trying to export a pdf of the design sheets. We are able to reproduce this in an empty design with two sheets. We have narrowed it down to the formats that we have been using for years. Creo Schematics 4.0 does not have this problem exporting with our current designs and the attached test design. The Event Viewer in Microsoft shows Faulting module name: DL180PDFL.dll, version: 18.0.4.3, time stamp: 0x62a673dd. Note, that PTC start template that ships with the tool does not have this issue so please test with the attached files. We are unable to update until this issue gets resolved. I am concern that this will impact other customers that have custom design templates (formats).

Have you submitted a Case for this? Can I have the number?
Hi Alex,
It is case # 17526068. There was a spr #15744978 issued for it as well. I have narrowed it down to multi-line text in the original format. It appears that the system handles new multi-line text however the original multi-line text that has been in our format for over a decade is what failed. We may need to explore what changed about the multi-line text between CS 4.0 and CS10+.
Take care,
Cassandra DeLeon Kemp
For anyone that comes across this issue, the problem lies with multi-line text that has empty lines in between the text as shown in the attached image. The system will crash in CS 10+ when exporting a PDF. You will need to break these down into separate notes without empty lines until this is repaired.
Hi Cassandra,
I can see this was already handled by the CS but just for future reference adding the details here as well.
Detailed context: This crash is triggered by libs which are used for PDF export. These Libs are not supporting “” in a Multi-Line Text with the font type 'Univers OTS' (from Schematics 9 onwards).
However, in Creo that uses the same libs for PDF export, empty line is represented with a space between the quotes: “ “.
Resolution: For now, you need to replace “” with “ ” as explained above and PDF export wont crash.
This issue will be patched in Schematics 12 release.
