Creo View MarkUp functionality differs between PDF and Image File Types

We have Windchill PDF Collaboration License running in Windchill 12.0.2.13 for use in Marking Up PDFs, along with other image files such at Tiffs, in Creo View 8.0.0.0 build 27.

One of the reasons we want this functionality, is to blank over certain text within an stored Documents, for sensitivity purposes.

With the Tiff files, we can create a Shape Box and Edit Properties for the background Colour to be white and the border shape/size to drag it over an area to be blanked – perfect.

However, with PDF’s we can edit the Shape colours to be white but without the Edit Properties, we can’t make it Opaque.

With a Text Box the defaults can be changed to white background and white Line Style – Line Colour. But this requires going back and too the default options page, rather than simply editing the properties of the shape/text box within the graphics.

We also tried creating a Blank White image and imported it as a Stamp. This works ok but we cannot resize the proportions, it can only be ‘scaled’ which make it tricky to cover a precise area.

So my question is why is this simple functionality different for different file types and can PTC enhance the solution here to be consistent .
