Viewing 3D notes on Models in Creo View

Good Afternoon,

Would anyone know what you need to do to view 3D notes put on a model in Creo View?

Thank you,
Lori Bonser

Layers? Filters?

Lori,

You need to publish thru a cadworker because it will give you the best results for annotations on a 3D model. Save As in Creo does NOT give you the same results as thru a Cadworker.

Lori,

Just like Lance says, here are the settings for the Cad Worker recipe file.

I had thought Creo Parametric uses a flavor of a recipe file when doing a save as. In the MXXX/apps/prodview folder is proe2pv.rcp.

Using two file explorer windows you can drag this file
"<path>\Mxxx\Creo 2.0\Common Files\Mxxx\text\prodview\export_pvs.rcp"
over
"<path>\Mxxx\Creo 2.0\Common Files\Mxxx\apps\prodview\bin\rcpedit.exe"
to edit the recipe file used for Save As to Creo View.
This lets you export annotations.
Remember to setup CreoView to show annotations as well.

Lori,

Here is the hierarchy breakdown for creating a Creo View file as each one will give a different result. We did some heavy investigation into each one this subject when I was with Raytheon.

1. Publish thru a Cadworker with Windchill PDMLink

- Best results
- Closest to WYSIWYG
- Still needs improvement

2. Install the Creo View Adapters with Creo Parametric

- File, Publish to Creo View from Creo Parametric menu

3. File, Save As, .pvz in Creo Parametric
- Missing annotations and combined states
