how can i use connection_count to give me final count of wires connected to a large connector?

how can i use connection_count to give me final count of wires connected to a large connector?
there is no documentation on this.
i would like to see a number at the connector level adding up all the connection_count in the port level.

it would be nice to have a value at the connector level telling be how many connections i have in this connector without me having to count them manually 😄
