How can I create a custom connector, such as a dual-port connector with both LH (Left-Hand) and RH (Right-Hand) variants?
I’m trying to build a similar connector but I'm stuck on a few points:
How to create a dual-port – When I use a simple port, it only creates a single port and not a dual one. So, I’m wondering if I need to create a dual port first, since it’s not available in the default port options.
How to replicate the behavior of the default connector setup – For example, when I select a default connector, a window pops up asking how many ports I want. I want to create a custom connector with the same functionality.
I've attached an image below for reference.

Best regards,
I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable than me will come along and provide more insight, but I'll try to help.
You're wanting to create a variable connector. My understanding is that these are created as a Group component. When you create the new group, under the Group Properties window, you will need to make sure that "Fix member identities" is NOT selected. This will give you the flexibility of choosing the number of terminals in your connector when instanced.
As far as the dual port goes....I simply use the same port on both sides of the geometry.
Hope this helps some.
