Analyzing the Impact of Corrosion on Bolted Joints Relative to Tightening Torque/Initial Load
Hello everyone,
I am currently using Creo 9.0 to explore the effects of corrosion on bolted joints, particularly in relation to Tightening Torque and Initial Load. My plan is to start by analyzing a standard bolted joint to understand its behavior under typical conditions. Afterwards, I intend to modify the material properties to simulate corrosion and perform the analysis again to observe any correlations.
Could anyone provide insights or resources on studying corrosion's impact on these factors? I've struggled to find relevant information on this topic.
Thank you for any suggestions you might have!

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately, I can't open the file because I'm using a non-commercial Student version. 😞
Did you alter the material properties to emulate the corrosion?

"Did you alter the material properties to emulate the corrosion?"
-> no, that was just an example of a screw with thread and plasticity.
