Best way to check for pooling, low spots

Hi

Any best practices for checking for pooling.

We are lookign to see if there are any low spots/dips etc that would cause a liquid tp pool if it was poured in there

We have Creo 7 with no additional analysis extensions

Installed level, I would expect it to drain, discounting other factors.  There are no "divots" in the surface.  The outer edges are level which could be an issue, especially in the corners.

 

Slope would be another way to look at it.

The yellow green color is at 0 slope - edges and corners.

I don't have creo 7 to open the part but there are several analysis features for curvature under the Analysis tab.  Curvature is one that I would start with.

Trying a step file. issue with curvature is we can have positive and negative curvature but still be going 'downhill'

The simplest way I can think of is to use draft analysis fore aft and laterally.

There is always more to learn in Creo.

so based on those screens shots would you be confident in saying it would all drain (forgetting otherr factors like surface tensions etc.)

If you want to explicitly define a minimum slope to the drain you could revolve a section of a cone using an axis at the center of the drain with the slope you need. You can then intersect this with the vertical side walls. Consider how this pan would be leveled on installation to set the slope steep enough to work in practice.
