Cam mechanism

I am unable to select surfaces as shown below to create cam mechanism.

What is the work around?

I presume it needs to be cylindrical or planar surfaces.

Create a surface feature to define your cam path and then hide it maybe

Dear Yah Li,

Cams are only for right prismatic surfaces, i.e. extrudable features. Create
an extruded surface and use that. If your cam needs to work as a ball,
you're stuck, the only other option is to use contact in Motion.
