Finding stress at an angle for a rotating part

Hi,

 

We need to find the stress when the part is twisted at an angle. It's shown in the capture-1 below that a motor powers the pocket at one end, while the other end has a stopper. load (capture 2) & constrains (capture 3), kindly advise me on how to calculate the stress values at various angles? 

Plastic is the material that is used & currently I am using Creo 7

Could you please help me? How can we specify angles, say 20 degrees, such that twisting stops at that point and we have to determine the stresses?

Plus, after applying 1NM, is it possible to measure the amount of twist(angle)?

Oh... This is an extremely non-linear problem, plasticity, large deformations...

very complex.

The part's primary purpose is to rotate 20 degrees past a stopper on one side so that we can measure the deformation and determine the stresses at that 20-degree angle.

Having shell elements does not allow Large Displacement. We just need a simple spring with low stiffness (1D element)

The user also has the problem of plasticization in the notches.

This is still too demanding for a beginner 😂

A linear calculation is therefore more practicable.

 

PS: We often use a compressive load as a force pair; in the event of large deformations, this load is tracked.

Do you know you can perform mechanism analysis and get reaction forces at defined point location then transfer the force measured to simulation for accurate results. 

I thought of doing it. I will definitely try that.

Please do share if you have any examples for reference.
