Hide Solids in Part

I remember watching a demo video a while back and the guy had a mapkey set up to hide solids in the part file - which function was it activating?

Layer > new layer > RMB > Layer Properties > set the Filter to Solid Geometry > drag selection box around whole model > OK > Hide the layer > JD – thought it was some fancy function as I didn’t think you could generally hide solid geometrySean
