Impact of a falling object

Ok, this is not a stricly related pro-e question, but we are talking among engineers, ain't we? I need to get a rough estimation of an impact force of a falling chunk of material from a certain height. Unfortunately impact is related to the changing of velocity in a deltat, which is in turn related to material of the falling object and the surface that takes the impact. Has anybody seen around something like a table (like those that exist for friction) to estimate the impact force as a function of the two materials? Thanks.

You could do an impact test using the dynamic analysis in Pro/E (MDO). Of course you'll need to estimate the coefficient of restitution to get the correct reaction force, but the accelerations will be accurate. I think there's a document on how to do this in the PTC knowledge base.
