Mechanica Problem

Does anyone know why when I try to use mechanica and it prompts for structure or thermal, it will not let me unselect FEM mode. In the lower command box it says Mechanica Native mode unavailable. Why is this happening?

Jeff, I belive you need to install Pro/MECHANICA also on your system. In case you have done so you need to reconfigure Pro/ENGINEER to let it know the location of Pro/MECHANICA.This can be done running the ptcsetup.bat file in the Pro/E installation 'bin' folder. Hope this helps, Rameet

I have mechanica installed and I looked into the prosetup.bat file but where do I go to specify the location of mechanica in the setup?

Sounds like it just wants to know if the analysis you are doing is structural or thermal. If your going to analyze a structure then chose structural, it should let you in.

scroll thru setup by clicking "Next" until you get to "Interoperability" option...it it is an option in the checklist midway thru the setup. Check it, and then you will be given another screen to enter the FULL path to the location of the Mechanica folder (and also Intralink) etc. Fill in the path, and continue setup until you get to Configure...click that and then exit. You should be good to go.
