hi guys, im trying to assamble a gear box. I know how to assamble the gears with mechanisms so they can mive eachother the problem is that i want to make a kind of shifting device so what i want to do is on a gear train ( one on the top one on the bottom) i want to put a gear that can be able to move through the axle so i can connect to a different gear. For example, if this gear ( like a synchronizer) is on one side it will be connected to a gear on the bottom gear train so the final speed will be "x" and then move the gear to the other side to connect another gear to give a different speed.
WHat i did is assemble the synchronizer as a cylinder so it can rotate and move throgh the axle and also assamble it with the gears it will be connected but it didnt work the way i want
is there a way to do what i want with CREO parametric 2.0?
It's been a long time since I used mechanism constraints, but could you have as an input a linear servo motor connection to push or pull the input gear back and forth on that cylinder constraint? Or better, put in the model your actual mechanisms in your design that move the gear back and forth?
See help: Creo Parametric > Simulation > Mechanism Design and Mechanism Dynamics > Mechanism Design Extension (You'll need the license for this if you don't have it currently) > Mechanism Design and Mechanism Dynamics Overview.
