Mechanism cam liftoff with follow

I have an assembly involving a cam constrant. I have a cam constraint set which allows two parts which are not initially in contact to follow a predescribed motion once they come into contact during convergence.

NOW

When I move the cam features away from each other I cannot get them to stay in contact during the motion seen in convergence. Instead the "follower" stay completly depressed while the cam rebounds. I do have allow liftoff set since I am not trying to keep them in contact through the whole motion an I do need separation after the follower returns to its initial position.

Any takers?

Thanks,

Matt

I have a colleague with the following Mechanism problem.

Without being familiar with the Pro/E cam feature...

Is there any reason for the follower to return? Some spring or
something?
And did you check the timescale? I.e. inertia may be the cause.
