Older graphic cards for WildFire

You are right. Just because the card has be "decertified" by PTC does not mean it will not work. It may mean that the graphics card is no longer supported by the card's mfg in that new drivers will not be issued in the future. We will be upgrading too but there's no way I will replace the older graphics cards unless I have too.
