Printer PCFs

We had been using Cannon Multi-Function machines. Our PCF file passed the settings over to "Windows Print Manager", life was good. Now with lease renewals we have switched to "RICOH Aficio" machines and the PCF files are not working correctly with 11x17 prints. Has anyone had experience with RICOH's? And can you offer any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

We have RICOH Aficios here and have issues. That said, our standard practice is to save all prints as PDF files so anyone who needs them can view it, and we print from the PDF.

We just got a Ricoh Aficio W3600 in 2 weeks ago. We have had some growing pains but here is how we do it. Set the Ricoh as the default printer in Windows, make sure you have Auto select papersize selected in your drivers, as well as set on the machine settings. Add the following line to your config.pro: plotter xerox8830 This was a line we had from an old plotter we had but it works so the old adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" still applies. You can print any size drawing from B to E and ti will autosize and cut the paper. The only issue is it always uses the bottom paper exit. I am trying to figure that out now and will post here if I find a solution. Note: You can get it to print out the upper paper exit by setting that as your default in your drivers. However you need to remove that line from your config.pro and use windows print manager. You have to manually select the paper size for each page of printing you do this method though in printer preferences, if you dont it locks the machine up looking for an 8-1/2" x 11" and it wont work till you walk over to the machine and clear it.

Ironically, a tech from the company who sold us this unit stopped by and fixed our issues with this. I wanted to make a separate post on this detailing our solution so it could be searched and found a bit easier. See it below. http://www.ptc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=23802
