Hi community,
I am trying to measure the maximum and minimum stress at a point for a specified coordinate system (shell model). In other words - I am trying to asses the bending contribution in a plate by measuring the maximum stress (on for example the top of the plate) and the corresponding minimum stress (on the bottom of the plate). Frustratingly, you can not measure maximum and minimum stress directly at a point, so I have set the spatial evaluation to "Near Point" and specified a small radius of 1[mm]. This measure is applied to multiple points in a pattern as shown in the attached screenshot. Multiple measures can be applied to the same point.
The parts containing these measures form part of a larger assembly/sub assemblies. Before adding the measures, analyses run past the "Begin Engine Bookkeeping" step in the run log in a few seconds. After adding the measures, the analyses is hanging on this step - it hangs indefinitely and does not provided any error message. My colleague has experienced the identical problem in a different assembly after applying the measures. Previous analyses which have run successfully also included several measures - but non using the implementation described above (maximum stress near point).
The following has been investigated:
Non of these have provided any insight into the problem. Does anyone know what is happening during "Engine bookkeeping" or can anyone suggest any further steps of investigation?
I have been unable to replicate this problem with small scale tests - the problem only shows up when running larger assemblies with several measures. The larger assembly is also covered by company confidentiality rules so unfortunately I am limited in what I can share.
I am using Creo 10.0.2.0.
Thank you for you support!
This is a case for PTC support, we probably can't help.
