Many thanks for all the replies.
Original Question:
I've been trying to rip the attached part between the two points, using
the create conversion/ rip connect function. I started with a solid then
cut and shelled it, then converted it to sheet metal. I managed to get
it to work once.
Not knowing how I got it to work I tried to do it again and for reasons
I don't know why I can't seem to do it. I want to able to create a flat
pattern of this shape.
I got plenty replies and all were very helpful, so thank you.
Below best explains how to achieve the desired result.
It turns out that no point relief's are necessary - start a conversion,
define the bends first, and then define a rip connect by selecting the
vertices of the part that you have the points located at.
I've attached a sample part I received to show what I was trying to do.
