APP/Styler: Make "DivisionReference" able to work in a way similar to cross-references

APP/Styler: Make "DivisionReference" able to work in a way similar to cross-references

We would like to use the "DivisionReference" functionality in the footer of our documents, to display the name of the current chapter.  This is very common in books.

However, due to a deficiency in APP functionality, a "DivisionReference" only works if the DTD in use has a title element that is a direct child of the division element in question, which is not true for our DTD (and for many other DTDs).

Note well that cross-reference functionality in APP finds our titles just fine--it is not limited to the direct child relationship.

Please update this functionality to be able to work in a way similar to cross-references.

DivisionReference is a Styler thing, so not APP. AFAIK, the Division is a fundamental concept in Styler which allows documents to be formed of nested sections. Each section (Division) may have a title element, and if it does that is the title of the Division which you may grab using the DivisionReference.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for here, perhaps a generic running header feature? APP already includes that functionality but it is not exposed via the Styler UI.

This seems to be a duplicate Idea? I just responded to your other idea which sounds identical to this.

DivisionReference has a artificial limitation (bug?) where it will only find the title element if it is a direct child of the division element, whereas cross-references will find the title element even if it is three levels down.  As the referenced case shows, PTC has confirmed this limitation, and has failed to find a workaround.
