Adding xrefs to callouts in 3D Technical Illustrations in Styler/Editor

Hi

I opened a case with Technical support (Case #12538241: "Adding an xref to highlight a callout and/or the callout and a part within a 3D Technical illustration highights the wrong part in the 3D technical illustration.

“Adding an xref to highlight a callout and/or the callout and a part within a 3D Technical illustration actually highights the wrong part in the 3D technical illustration. Is this known/wanted behaviour?”

After recreating the behavior you noticed, Technical Support asked the  R&D Team about it. Here is their analysis:

Highlighting a callout in the

PVZ is not supported in Editor.

PVZ’s callouts are added to Creo

View after we added intelligent graphic support in Editor. PVZ’s callouts are

very different than other objects that there is a specific API in Creo View to

highlight them. Since at the time we implemented intelligent graphic support in

Editor, the API was not available, we don’t have code to use this API.

In Editor, you can highlight a callout in CGM, because IsoView doesn’t differentiate callouts from other

objects.

Support for adding interactivity to the callouts SHOULD be implemented into Arbortext Editor/Styler in order to support the use of integrated appllications working together. Currently, as things stand, your implementation is incomplete and unable to support linking to a 3D callout on an 3D technical illustration and trying to add this linking operation defaults to highlighting the wrong object in the illustration. As linking to parts within a 3D illustration is working, I think the development team needs to take this further.
