Thanks for the idea- this is one already on our roadmap so it is good to see interest. We are still determining which release this may go into for the future.
Even though the sample font I gave you is just one type, I would like to ask you to implement all types, Light, Bold, Regular and all types (2 kinds) as attached.
The good news is that the R&D team have started work on APP’s support for OpenType and the GEDinkum use-case is going to be part of the testing of this functionality. This is likely to be a significantly large project but we are hopeful of being able to release it in our December 2018 release. I’d like to point out that this is the plan at the moment and any forward looking information is subject to change without notice.
We are still working on OpenType support and hope to release it in 11.2 M040. There is a significant number of changes needed to APP in order to provide this support, but we feel it will be worth it!
I'm sorry to say that there is going to be a delay in our release of the OpenType support for APP. There are two reasons for this. The first reason is that the development work has taken slightly longer than planned. As we're tied to other PTC software releases, we couldn't delay the APP release in order to complete the work. The other reason is that the next main release will be 11.3 and it makes better sense to provide this kind of update in a major release.
11.3 is planned for the Summer of 2019 - I'm sorry if this causes inconvenience but I hope you understand our reasons and can look forward to a great addition to APP's capabilities.
I am Yasushi Kawada and I am working at Maruboshi Corporation.
Thanks for your explanation about schedule delay and perspective of OpenType font application schedule.

We have understood that you are now aiming at summer 2019 to apply the OpenType font including GE Dinkum and Infiniti Brand Arabic.
Based upon your answer, we would like to ask following 3 questions.
According to your explanation, we have understood this is a problem of time and it is not technical issue. As long as it is problem of time, we believe it should be solved. Can the problem be solved?
If it is problem of time, can you guarantee the “summer 2019”.
Since this schedule is closely related to Nissan Manual production, we will forward your answer to Nissan. Thanks for your understanding.
We are still aiming for releasing OpenType support in the next major release of APP this summer. We can't make any guarantees that those fonts will work, as that is up to the font designer/creator to ensure it has the right information in to work correctly.
