I have a user that would love to have the search and replace (CTRL-F) improved by adding an extra option to limit the scope of the search and replace to the selected elements.

This way, the author could select the elements they want the search and replace performed on (such as a number of tables (but not all tables)).

PTC could simple add an extra set of radio buttons below the "Up/Down" selector to determine on what part fo the documents the search and replace will be performed. The default can be the entire document, but the second option would be on the "User selection"

Thank you for your suggestion! I will be looking into the feasibility of this option. Our recommended best practice is to author in smaller components, rather than the previous monolithic documents. However, I can imagine this might be useful for even a RDE view of a DITA map or associated content.
