When viewing the Link/Xref tab for the current document in the Resource Manager, can the targets for "All elements with IDs" show the generated autonumber for the specific item matching what is shown in the Editor view?  This will help authors quickly scan the list in the Link/Xref tab and select the appropriate item link/xref to insert.  In a similar item, if the Show=fig entry is selected, can a thumbnail popup of the graphic show up when the author hovers over the figure item (similar to the preview shown in the Image tab).
