When an end user is installing Digital Media Consumer on their local computer, the default installation directory in Windows is picked up from the registry. The user must manually modify this to install DMC in a specific location; the location is important since DMC updates rely on it being correct.
There should be a configuration option to change the default installation path to a specific target directory. Requiring the installer to manually change the path at this window is non-intuitive and causing problems in the field. A work-around a customer has developed is displayed below, but it is not ideal since users often just click thru installations or have typos in the path.
