Using DITA-tools as the Resource Manager in non-DITA document types

Hello!

There are some nice extensions to DITA, such as the Resource Manager, which I'd like to use in a non-DITA document type.

Especially when working with Windchill Service Information Manager, it would help a great deal, if I could pick a document in the Windchill Browser and say "Open in Resource Manager", so that I can list all possible target ID's of a document in Windchill.

Or inserting graphics, etc. etc.

Since the base-configuration in the custom doctypes are handled in the DCF, so that buttons like link-target, graphic-insertion, etc. are working properly, I'd like you to consider to extend the DCF, so that each custom-doctype could use the functionality of the resource manager.

This is an interesting suggestion, however our solution strategy is based on DITA implementations. The majority of our development efforts for something like the Resource Manager would trend towards DITA only.
