Adepters, We are using Adept*Editor Ver. 7.0. One of my content models looks a lot like a definition list (or a two column table). In the SCREEN FOSI, is there a way to have two inline elements (on the same line) where the first is left justified and the second is right justified? If so, can I add leader dots to the central white space? Thanks for your time Bob Pilz Mitchell, San Diego email@example.com
You need to define a charfill (character fill) to output the dots. The output is from a usetext source. Which e-i-c should have the usetext depends on if the or element is optional or repeatable and if the dots should be optional or repeatable. This also determines how placement is coded (after or before ). If both and are required and not repeatable, it doesn't matter whether the usetext is coded on or . Note: Generated text must be set to display in the edit window for the dots to display. FYI: This particular topic and others relevant to screen FOSIs are covered in the ADEPT Stylesheet Design Workshop: Authoring offered by ArborText training (firstname.lastname@example.org). Are you developing a screen FOSI? Side-by-side alignment is not supported in the edit window. The online help in 7.0 (or the printed documentation in previous releases) has Formatting Support Tables that show what is supported for paper and in the edit window. If your FOSI is for paper, then you need to use algroup to get side-by-side alignment. Suzanne Napoleon Senior Applications Analyst ArborText, Inc.
