We are getting the following alert in Arbor Text when we open multiple files in Arbor Text editor.
Existing window is busy or has an active dialog box.Do you want to start another ArborText editor session?
Earlier this seems to work.but not sure what happened,it suddenly gives the alert as below.
Could anyone help me in this regard.
On the executable add -newinstance if you want style also -styler
"C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor\bin\x64\editor.exe" -styler -newinstance
for opening the files,we will set the default editor as Arbor Text.
So that whenever we will open our files,it just opens Arbor Text.
Earlier it used to work fine,But not sure suddenly why we are getting this popup.
Could you please let us know how we can add the commandline -styler -newinstance in this scenario..
That would have been a good idea to tell you where to make the change. Find the Arbortext shortcut on the desktop, right click and choose properties in the target line add the -styler -newinstance commands to the editor.exe exectuable.
None of the above things can actually be recommended in our application.
Could you please let us know the root cause of the issue.
We have verified the issue on different machines. It is recurring instantly.
I have tried deleting the cache folder and it worked fine in my case. But not on other machines.
Could anyone please take a look on it..
Does this happen when you are using object Browse from Arbortext Editor or are you clicking the Open In Arbortext from Windchill?
We recently discovered if you are running Arbortext as "Administrator" then when you try use the Open in Arbortext Action or button in Windchill we get the error you have shown.
We are not using windchill. We will set ArborText as default editor for xml.
When we open the xmls ,the problem is occuring..
We are using ArborText 5.4 M140.
Could u please share any work around for this..
Is there any work around for this.
We identified when 2 files are opened at a time,We are getting this issue.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated..
Open the help center and search for Startup Command Syntax.
Thanks Bryon for a quick reply.
And sorry, it is not possible to add the -newinstance in our scenarios.
Could you please provide any insight of how the arborText loads an xml,We see in our app,it tries to load some dtd,acls,fos,dcf.. etc files,We would like to know if there is any issues in the dtd or acl that might be causing it (Since it earlier worked fine on our machines,Recently we hit this issue).
Could you please take some time to answer this. Thanks for your Support Bryon.
