Arbortext 8.3 and Arbortext Layout Developer 12.3 are available!

Arbortext Editor/Styler/Publishing Engine 8.3 and Arbortext Layout Developer/Layout Editor 12.3 were released December 12, 2024!

 

Key Highlights: Editor/Styler/Publishing Engine

  • Support for publishing from Windchill+ using the VCS architecture
  • Simplify the toolbar defaults
  • Ability to include Windchill Part attribute values in XML documents
  • Support for editing MathML with the third-party MathType product
  • Add the ability to log out of a Publishing Engine session
  • Add Publishing Engine Javadoc to the Help Center
  • Updates to Creo View and IsoView
  • Update to Java 21 and Tomcat 10
  • Arbortext Styler/APE will be able to publish to PDF and PostScript using the APP XSL-FO engine

New for Arbortext 8.3.0.0 is a version of Arbortext Publishing Engine specifically for Arbortext Layout Developer (ALD) template users.

    • Arbortext Publishing Engine for APP is a reduced functionality version of Publishing Engine which allows only f=app requests, and therefore enables ALD users to deploy their templates on a consistent server-based solution.

 

Key Highlights: Arbortext Layout Developer/Layout Editor

  • UI improvements
    • Updated dialog boxes for Document Properties, Footnote Control Streams, Index Control Streams
    • New ‘Insert Character’ dialog for inserting characters from different fonts
    • Inset Markup feature extended to include groups
  • Character classes
    • New feature to specify the behaviour of characters of different classes
    • Rules include line breaks and margin overhang (hanging punctuation)
    • Will provide a foundation for more functionality for language formatting
  • Debugger enhancements
    • Updated code edit library
    • Code linting and code formatting options
    • Window splitting to allow long tags to be worked on better
    • New guides in page WYSIWYG for kerning, references, and characters
