Currently we are running on XP, where Documentum Desktop 5.3 can be installed. We are looking at upgrading to Windows 7 where desktop is not compatible. We've found that we have to upgrade to the WDK adapter, but cannot find any information on how to do so. Can anyone point me in the right direction? We need to get the WDK installed and running. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Joe,
Take a look at the reference documents on the www.ptc.com site. For example, the 6.0 M040 guide titled "Arbortext Content Management". It is located at http://www.ptc.com/WCMS/files/138341/en/cms_guide.pdf
Take a look at chapter 4, it is specifically about the Arbortext Adapter to Documentum setup and files.

Hi Joe,
What version of Editor are you using? Upgrading adapters should happen when you do the install with the Editor version that supports the DCTM WDK version you are using.
We don't provide support for the actual DCTM Webtop installation.

We upgraded recently from version 5 to version 6.0. I'm not looking for support for the Webtop Installation, only how Editor connects to Webtop.
Hi Joe,
Assuming your Documentum support team has installed and configured the server-side portion of the WDK and that your authors have installed Editor including the WDK adapter, then the only remaining thing that should be done is to set the environment variable, APTDMSERVERURL to the path of the server-side portion of the WDK. It might look something like this:
https://servername:portnumber/ArbortextAdapter
or
https://servername:8443/ArbortextAdapter
Obviously replacing servername with the server or maybe IP address of where Webtop is hosted. Also your Documentum support folks may have chosen something different than "ArbortextAdapter".
We launch all Editor sessions by way of batch files that are distributed within our custom folder. We set this environment variable (and several others) in these batch files.
Oh, and:
Browser version and configuration matters.
Java version and configuration matters.
Firewall and other networking issues can matter.
FYI: Another great source of user to user support is the Adepters mailing list where lots and lots of Arbortext users, admins, and developers hang out 24/7/365. Information on joining that list (as well as pointers to lots of other Arbortext resources) can be found here:

Good luck!
Funny enough, I am the documentum team. I didn't install it because at the time, we didn't have any idea how to use it...hence the actions I'm taking now...
Redoing the web application isn't difficult, which from the only page of information that I found anything useful, said that the server side is the web application. I cannot find the website again, either...so I'm really having bad luck with this one. I'll check out the sources you laid out above as well... Thanks for the help!!!
In that case what you need is the installer for Arbortext Editor. My download is named:
MED-blahblahblah-CD-060-M010-Win32.zip
I obscured that one part because maybe it's customer number related? Not sure.
Unzip that.
Navigate to /server/documentum
And you'll want one of the WDK zips therein. I think once you find that you'll be good to go.
I'm not finding the documentation for that install, but as you say, I think it's just a webapp.
Thank you!
