Can you change the distance between lines in Isodraw hatching?

Can you change the distance between lines in Isodraw hatching?

I have an illustartion with lots of hatching and thought it would be great to just have different gaps between the hatching lines.

I couldn't find a way to change the gaps, so decided to create my own hatching styles.

I copied the hatchings in the DeafultHatchings.iso illustration, then doubled up all the lines to make smaller hatchings of each type, ensuring that I cropped any lines outside the box and gave each hatching an object name.

Seemed to work fine - hatching adds to illustration OK.

But when I print, I get an error message:

Error: undefined

Command: get

Stack: /

The last character after the word Stack: I can't reproduce - it's more like the accent over a letter than a forward slash.

If I change all my new hatchings to standard Isodraw or CGM ones, it prints fine.

Anyone know what I could have done wrong, or alternatively if there is any way to specify line gaps in standard hatching.

Hello,

Can you provide this hatching example? And what version of Arbortext IsoDraw are you using?

I've just discovered what was wrong with my hatching - one of them had fill switched on for the bounding box. Once I switched fill off, the illustration printed OK.

My original question remains though - is there any way to set the line gap rather than having to make lots of similar hatchings just because you want different gaps.

If not, is there any way to expand the hatching menu so that the list of hatchings is longer? When I stretch the menu, the list stays the same size, only showing 4 hatchings with a scroll bar.

1. You can use macro example ("MACRO Generate_Hatchings") that create hatchings with diagonal lines of a defined distance from each other for IsoDraw: http://communities.ptc.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/182842-38438/HatchGenExample.txt.zip

2. Try to edit "Cgmhatchings.cgm" by using any text editor:

Such possibility isn't present.

Thanks for the helpful answer.

I'll look at the CGM hatching.

I presume that all the parameters after each HATCHSTYLEDEF are for the hatch attributes. Are they documented somewhere so we know what they all represent?

I think not. But you can ask about it technical support of PTC here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/case/case_logger.jsp
