Editor 8.0 cannot write to LAN: "You do not have write permissions to the target directory:"

We have a user who cannot write any .XML file to a network location with Editor 8.0.1.0. He can drag and drop files in Windows Explorer (Windows 10 vers 20H2) and with other apps, but Editor won't let him write to this location which everyone has full read/write permissions to... We're not using any Publishing Engines or any special extensions, macros or anything. Has anyone encountered this before?

It will be Windows preventing access to this location, not Arbortext. Arbortext Editor will be running with a certain set of permissions that do not match the permissions of the user account that is doing the drag/drop. It is possible that the user account in Windows may be logged-in to the \\server with different credentials?

You could probably also review the logs on the target server with the file share, to see what error is reported when that user attempts to write files to the network folder.

In summary, while the problem is manifesting in Arbortext it is a Windows issue. Arbortext simply uses the Windows APIs for writing files and the APIs are coming back with "permission denied".
