Extra data in auto figure title

Extra data in auto figure title

I'm working with Arbortext 5.3, CPA 1.4 and have a 62-sheet illustration. The fig and subfig tags are working fine as far as autonumbering the sheets. However, in the auto-generated table of contents, the figure is listed by its title followed by "(Sheet 1)". Why? The sheet number is not entered in the figure title tag-it is auto generated by the subfigure. Is this output standard or is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks.

62 sheets, that has to be some sort of record.

I don't use the application but it has to be something in the FOSI. How do
other multisheet illustrations appear? Is this the only one in the book?
It will be harder to track down if this is the only multisheet figure that
is doing this. If so I would then look at the number of sheets to see if
there is some magic number threshold where this starts happening.

I would try adding some dummy sheets to another figure to see if you can
cause the problem.

I would say this is unexpected behavior and that you have something wrong
in the composition process - where is going to be the hard part to track
down.

In a FOSI, Table of Contents entries are usually generated from a savetext at the location in the book of the actual element that is referenced in the TOC.

At each subfigure title, there must be a savetext for the TOC that contains the title text followed by "(Sheet [some counter value])". Apparently the counter for subfigures is either being reset or not incremented so that it always has the value of "1".

Kathy,

Be sure that you are saving the title for the list of illustrations in the title e-i-c. The one here uses figtitle.tdv as a time dependent variable to hold the title and DOES NOT contain the sheet number. Labelstr.tdv is set in the Figure e-i-c to contain the figure number (savetext textrid="labelstr.tdv" conrule="chapterct, \-\, figct">)
