French characters and printing/searching in PDF

It's been brought to my attention a particular problem with the PDF documents I create from Arbortext v9.1. Accented characters are not searchable in the PDF documents (é, è, ç, et cetera). Are there output settings that I can modify or adjust and then test? Has anyone else come across this problem?

Hi David I've just created a PDF document in APP with French characters and the text searches just fine. Are you using the Unicode version of APP? Simon
