IsoDraw Forum?

Hello all, just wondering if the new IsoDraw users will get a forum? cm

I hope so, Discussions outside the office about the tools I use with other users is very interesting. Wait and see. Stephen

I also would like to see a ISODraw and AuthorPro Forum. Ever since PTC purchase ITEDO, the help and tech support has gone down the tubes. If you go to www.isodraw.com, none of the support or tip and tricks pages load. Looks like they were intentionally removed. I'm very disappointed and feel that the end users of the above programs are required to go through to much red tape to get any support. Ryan

We do have an IsoDraw forum here: http://www.ptc.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=35 As for the technical resources you are used to on isodraw.com, we are working to port that content to ptc.com as I type this message. I am unsure as to why these pages came down on the old site, but I can tell you that it was only in English and that we are working with the IT team in Germany to restore them until we can get all the content live on ptc.com. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope that our new format for this content makes up for it in the future.

Why were the old IsoDraw and IsoDraw Macros forums removed?? Everything is now lumped together under "Arbortext" which is more than an inconvenience - it makes the site almost completely useless. I actually came here just now to delete my account because of that fact, but perhaps I'll stick around a little longer to see what happens.

There are actually 2 forums for our illustrations products. The traditional ISODRAW and ISODRAW MACRO forums are here under the Arbortext umbrella. Be sure to filters by categories and tags when browsing the content, and also be sure to add appropriate categories/tags to any posts that you make.

There is a second standalone TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATION community here that covers ISODRAW and CREO ILLUSTRATE:

http://communities.ptc.com/groups/technical-illustration

In this way you have forums within the context of Arbortext and also standalone.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Chris, it's now very confusing trying to find Isodraw and macro posts - I don't see why we should have to rely on tags - the products are completely separate so why not have forums for the different products?

+1 (from a "traditional" Arbortext user who has no idea about illustrations )

You might be interested to know that you can bookmark these communities with your favorite filters/tags enabled. The PTC Communities offer much more flexibility than the old 'forum' system, but if you prefer to just see specific types of discussions then you just need to set the filters one time and save the bookmark.

For example:

http://communities.ptc.com/community/arbortext?view=discussions#/?tag=2226

...will show only 'IsoDraw' discussions.

Again, if you prefer to discuss Technical Illustration in a standalone community (outside of the Arbortext umbrella) then this one is the place for you:

http://communities.ptc.com/groups/technical-illustration

Hope this helps.

Not sure what advantages this "extra flexibility" brings - it's certainly not as easy to find what you're looking for now.

Why do we have to set tags to find posts when they should be separated into products anyway instead of being jumbled up together? Surely Isodraw and Arbotext are suffieciently nothing like each other to merit separating?

Also, there is a very good chance that tags won't pick up posts - if a poster forgets to add tags to their post, what happens to it then if you filter on a specific tag?

Sorry, I don't mean to criticise you as you are trying to help, so thanks for that, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds the current "communities" more difficult to use than the forums, mainly because of the mix of posts.

Hi,

Is there any separate group or forum for Isodraw Macros? I would love learn about macros

Thanks

Manoj

No, there is no separation of the forums. And please check my post for Arbortext IsoDraw Macro Language Reference here: http://communities.ptc.com/message/154321#184210

Thanks for the reply Vladimir.

The reference would be much useful. Besides my learning of macro's do you know any website for readymade macro's where i can built up from that according to my need. I feel that would be much faster to learn

Thanks again,

Manoj

I also agree with Chris and Tim. isodraw needs its own forum, why should I have to go to two different places to find the information I'm looking for?
