Loading different FOSI.....

Loading different FOSI.....

I have a situation where I want to enable auto selection of screen fosi
from a list of fosi i have defined(using the same dtd). For example, when
user(author) choose to edit a repair manual, the fosi for this manual will
be automatically loaded, and if they choose another type of manual the
respective Fosi will be loaded(user r not allow to modify the fosi, so the
fosi editing is disabled)

Any idea how to do this ?

thank in advance

Loading different FOSI.....

First question, are you using the same DTD for all the manuals (i.e., repair
and the others)? If you are, then look in the documentation on how to use
the Multiple FOSI Manager. This allows you to have and use more than one
FOSI in the DOCTYPE directory. The problem is this requires the author to
select which FOSI they need.

If you are using different DTDs or the same DTD with a different DOCTYPE,
Adept will bring up the default FOSI for the DOCTYPE directory.

Loading different FOSI.....

Open the instance in ADEPT Editor and then enter the following command on
the command line:
set fosi=

must NOT include the extension. ADEPT assumes an
extension of ".fos".

If the type of manual can be identified from some markup in the instance
(element or attribute name), then you could use ACL to set the correct FOSI.

Lynn's suggestion is good if you have one doctype per manual type, even if
all manuals use the same DTD. ADEPT treats each doctype as a unique "DTD",
if you want to think of it like that.

Hope this helps some.
